Treasure Island- Near St. Petersburg, Florida

FLORIDA BEACHES NEAR ORLANDO

Florida Beaches Near Orlando is an excellent day trip option for those visiting Orlando. Only a short drive from your vacation home and the Orlando attractions.…Choose either the Atlantic Coast or the Gulf Coast, both offer beautiful sand and surf…fabulous seafood fare and excellent plentiful shelling.

Below is a list of some great Florida Beaches Near Orlando, along with helpful tips and suggestions, driving times, and local attractions within each area.

COCOA BEACH: Closest to Orlando…visit famous Ron Jon’s surf shop…Cocoa Beach is known for its large crowds where people find themselves staying busy playing beach volleyball, football, Frisbee, leisure walking and shelling as well as just relaxing in the sand and water. There are many stands offering rental items including surfboards, boogey boards, and bicycles. Parking spaces can be found along the entire beach road and at a variety of local shops and restaurants (making it a bit easier to find a meter for your quarters).

DAYTONA BEACH: Free chairs and umbrellas line the beach as well as metered parking along the street or you may park in the Ocean walk Parking Garage located on A1A for only $10 per day... You’ll find mini-golf and water slides across the street from the Main Street Pier if you’re in need of another hour of fun in the sun. This beach is one of the few that still allows driving on the sand; you will find many antique and collector cars parked along for viewing. Enjoy your day walking on the beach, looking for shells and building sand castles.

CLEARWATER BEACH / TREASURE ISLAND: Located on Florida’s West Coast, this gorgeous area is St Pete Beach, Florida. Bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the West and Tampa Bay to the East, here you’ll find 35 miles of glittering white-sand beaches amongst eight major barrier islands that are filled with loads of water activities such as Jet Ski rentals and para-sailing. This area is known for its many art galleries and museums along the streets.
You must make “the Trop” (Tropicana Field) a necessary stop for a baseball game...parking is plentiful and the stadium is directly next to Treasure Island…Picture the white sand you see in Florida Beach advertisements and the aqua water…this is the place where it all happens... St Petersburg-Clearwater Beach is located only 90 minutes from Orlando and your Vacation Home.
